GOA SARAS 

The Department of Rural Development, Govt.of Goa under the sponsorship of Ministry of Rural Development, Govt.of India, organized a National event “ GOA SARAS 2005” at parade ground Campal, Panaji from 24.11.05 to 4th December 2005. This is a first time national event has been organized by the State.

The Govt.of Goa has allotted the part of parade ground admeasuring 7000 sq mates at nominal rent for the above period.

GOA SARAS 2005 , Exhibition was inaugurated on 24.11.2005 by Shri Pratapsingh Raoji Rane, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa in the presence of Shri Subhash Shirodkar, Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development, Govt.of Goa and Chairperson of North and South Goa Zilla Panchayat.

The exhibition featured 294 participants , l92 SHGs comprising of 277 groups beneficiaries from Andra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryanam Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Goa participated in the Exhibition.


The Swarojgaries from all over the State of Goa were brought to the exhibition site for getting acquainted with different type of products and their views with the swarojgaries of other States. Free Transport and refreshment was provided to these swarojgaries The exhibition ended on 4.12.05 with concluding function in the presence of Shri Digambar Kamat , Hon’ble Minister for Power , Art and Culture , Govt.of Goa. The total sale during the exhibition was Rs. 30,82,900/-.
